A number of renowned printing companies joined forces for a very special type of event under the banner “Teamplay in Flexo”. For the first time, the companies Apex, DuPont, Esko, Siegwerk and Lohmann organised a joint “Print Workshop” for their customers, which was held at the end of last year in Istanbul, Turkey.
Against a backdrop of a joint appearance by the innovation leaders, the 100 delegates were brought right up to date during this one-day seminar on the latest developments in the flexoprinting sector. Information was provided on a range of topics, including ink density, print quality and print consistency, to illustrate how the overall printing process can be optimised. This once again highlighted how many factors influence the printing process and how these need to be coordinated to achieve the perfect print result. Florian von Heesen, Head of Application Engineering Graphics, and his Austrian colleague Markus Koch, Application & Quality Manager, presented the expertise of the graphical segment of Lohmann, and expressed their confidence: “This workshop was the right platform in which to find out all about the latest developments in flexoprinting and inform our customers. The exchange of best practice experiences in particular will help us to improve the printing process even further and to develop innovative products for the customer.”
Providing tailored customer care, technical support and integrating the machinery on the customer's premises all play a decisive role, especially for Lohmann. Lohmann's graphical team is able to draw on its decades of know-how and in-depth knowledge of the market for flexographic products. A conscious decision was made to choose Turkey as the country for this first workshop, as there is a huge demand for flexographic products in this up-and-coming economic country, and the market looks very promising. Due to the extremely positive feedback from this workshop, the organisers are planning to repeat it again next year in a different venue.
