Lohmann’s Bonding Engineers look back on 168 years of innovation. Now, they take another step forward: with funding from the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE).
In the current project, which is subsidized by the funding program InnoTop, Lohmann is working on a new generation of Epoxy-Tapes.
The structural adhesive tapes are used in permanent and high-strength applications. By means of the funding project, their manufacture is now meant to be further optimized, i.e. to be made sustainable. The characteristics of the Epoxy-Tapes, however, shall remain unchanged or rather be improved to make sure Lohmann customers continuously experience the safety and quality they are accustomed to. Stay tuned and find out what the next years of research and development will look like at Lohmann – and, of course, get in touch with us via: firstname.lastname@example.org
InnoTop is a funding program of the Investment and Structure Bank Rhineland-Palatinate which subsidizes research and development projects as well as feasibility studies for the funding period 2014-2020. More information via https://isb.rlp.de/foerderung/269.html (German language)

Lohmann investing in energy- and resource-efficient solvent-free coating technology
At its headquarters in Neuwied, Lohmann is building a dry coating plant for the solvent-free coating of adhesive tapes. By investing in this plant, the production of double-sided adhesive tapes is adjusted to a solvent-free coating technology. Thus, the production times will be shortened significantly and solvents, materials and energy savings are going to be realized. Additionally, the use of pollutant solvents can be reduced substantially. By means of this new manufacture and the solvent-free products, Lohmann will be able to concentrate on the growing markets for environmentally compatible products.
This investment project is funded by an investment grant of the ISB Investment and Structure Bank Rhineland-Palatinate. The subsidies originate from the funding program for energy and resources efficiency in commercial companies of the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE).
