Lohmann Tianjin plant was recognized as “the 7th Outstanding Environment Protection Enterprise”. Hui Han, SHE-Q, said: “I feel very proud to stand on this stage and receive this award on behalf of Lohmann. It is the recognition of TEDA government for Lohmann's work in environment protection.”
Lohmann Tianjin is very supportive of the TEDA government, commits to respect the governmental regulations, invests in equipment, maintains transparency in report and date, and works on training to keep everyone informed.
The company follows tightly national and local environmental regulations, maintains close contact with the local Environment Protection Bureau (EPB), obtained the latest environmental protection policies and regulations and resolutely implemented them. From last year January to the end of March this year, the plant has audited by EPB inspections, and found zero environmental violations.
To be in line with governmental regulations, “transparency” plays an important role. The plant takes the initiative to publish the environmental reports, and actively participated in the Environment Day 6.5 organized by the local Environment Protection Bureau.
Lohmann invested machines to reduce hazardous wastes. In 2006, a Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system was imported to improve energy efficiency and prevent emission waste.
In 2017, a technical transformation project for the adhesive mixing room was carried out. Engineers from headquarters in Germany led the local team, installed a German brand activated carbon adsorption treatment machine and established collection pipes and standard treated discharge outlets. Therefore, the facility reached the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) standard by third party evaluation. The same year, the plant passed SGS audit in environmental management, and renewed the ISO14001 certification.
Furthermore, Lohmann Tianjin takes staff safety training seriously. Every new comer must undergo Environment Protection and Safety training during their on boarding program. Furthermore, a Safety Day on 20 August each year is organized where employees learn and renew their knowledge about latest environment protection and safety policies.
