However, according to their “Smart Bonding Approach”, Lohmann’s bonding pioneers take a step further, right into the customer application. As of now, the “Small PSA Bonding Compendium” can be downloaded from the Product Navigator.
Here, users can find detailed information on the selection, use and processing of DuploCOLL® pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes. Apart from an overview of the PSA families, influences on the bond and storage instructions, the compendium provides customers with various alternatives of organic solvents with material compatibility for surface preparation.
“For example, the alcohol isopropyl used by default can be substituted with benzines, ester or ketones. As usual, the solvents’ compatibility with the substrate has to be assessed and the respective information on handling the materials to be taken into account”, states Peter Harendt, Head of Application Engineering at Lohmann.
In regards to the quality requirements for pressure sensitive adhesive applications for permanent adhesive bonds, e.g. according to standard DVS 3320-2 (status: January 2019), the “Small PSA Bonding Compendium” is also meant to support the user.
