Lohmann employees are getting into the saddle: job bike leasing promotes health and sustainable mobility

The Lohmann company now enables its employees to use high-quality leased bicycles and e-bikes.

"Anyone who rides a bicycle or e-bike regularly is less stressed in everyday life and has proven to be less ill", says Lohmann CEO Dr. Jörg Pohlman, "With the new mobility offer, we are making an active contribution to keeping our employees healthy".

Own job bike as employee benefit

Dr. Jörg Pohlman continues: "As a modern employer, we know how important attractive additional benefits are for motivating and retaining employees. Accordingly, the option of purchasing a company bicycle at a reasonable price from the employer also contributes to further increasing Lohmann's attractiveness as an employer. Last but not least, the company would like to contribute to air pollution control and traffic relief through sustainable mobility management. This is also in line with the wishes of the workforce: "More and more employees want to avoid the daily traffic jams, actively support the environment and do something for their fitness at the same time," says Pohlman.

How the JobRad leasing offer works

Lohmann employees choose their dream bike online or at their local dealer. All manufacturers and brands are possible. Lohmann then leases the service bike and leaves it to the employee. In return, the company retains a small portion of the employee's gross monthly salary and uses it to pay the leasing installment. The jobbike is insured and may also be used in leisure time. This gives the employee a benefit in money's worth, which since January 1, 2020 has only been taxable at 0.25 percent of the bicycle list price (UVP). Thus the coworker saves in relation to the conventional purchase clearly. In order to make the service bicycle offer even more attractive, Lohmann is subsidizing the monthly rate for the job bike with up to 40 euros.
