Unlimited Space for Innovations

The Technology Center at Neuwied is the latest innovation in the over 165-year history of Lohmann. After around two years of construction, the TEC Center was officially inaugurated in the autumn of 2016. With more than 1,200 m², it provides room for further innovations from the "Bonding Engineers" and sets new standards. In addition to state-of-the-art laboratories and conference rooms, the Tec Center is home to the High Performance Coating Line (HPCL), one of the most modern coating plants worldwide. The Bonding Arena®

„landing space“ for Application Engineering and Product Design

In October 2016 the new Bonding Arena® opened its doors in the technology center at the Neuwied site and Lohmann has once again taken a major step towards the working world of the future. On 300 square meters, a working environment has been created in which the development of applications for customized solutions can take place. Under the motto “Solution Providing in the Lohmann TEC Center”, the Bonding Arena® is part of a tour that makes Lohmann's value chain perceptible to customers and visitors. The Bonding Arena® meets a variety of requirements. Regardless whether application engineering, business development or market and product management, a work area has been created for all market-relevant functions, which can be utilized absolutely flexibly. Design plays an important role in this case. The highest possible openness, combined with the latest and most modern technology ensures a working environment that is unrivaled. Therewith an ideal infrastructure has been created in order to be able to react to the market requirements, also in the future. Besides, the Bonding Arena® is also a training center for internal employees as well as for external visitors.

The novelties are indeed manifold. For instance, significantly more possibilities for the DuploTEC SBF (Structural Bonding Films) exist. These, as well as all other adhesive solutions from Lohmann, should be graspable in the truest sense of the word, so that it can be immediately tested which could be the right solution for the customer. This takes place on so-called workstations. Thus, the Smart Bonding Approach can also be implemented in the Bonding Arena®. The new possibilities are the end of a long list of services that can be offered to the customers and therefor fit ideally into the technology center as a real demonstration of the Lohmann value chain.

The High Performance Coating Line (HPCL) is one of the most versatile pilot coating systems worldwide with a clear focus on maximum precision. It is Lohmann's platform for innovative process technology and coating technology.

In the most modern environment, among others, products for emerging markets such as medical, elecronics and automotive can be implemented on a pilot plant scale. For this purpose, the system is completely cleanroom capable. This makes it possible to process the most sensitive materials and to generate the most modern product designs. Together with our customers we always find the right coating solution.
