Lohmann's adhesive solutions for EV batteries in the trade press: Optimizing battery performance by multifunctional adhesive tape
The range of multifunctional adhesive tapes and die-cuts provides functions such as damping, sealing, electrical insulation and conductivity as well as efficient thermal management. These materials play a crucial role in improving battery performance, extending battery life and supporting reliable and efficient production processes. Lohmann focuses on developing an increasingly sustainable value chain that covers all stages of production from adhesive manufacturing to in-house converting.
The company’s production processes use only green electricity, the supply chain is as short as possible, and, depending on the customers’ requirements, ranges of solvent-free adhesive tapes can be produced. In addition, Lohmann already calculates the complete in-house PCF (product carbon footprint) of its products from cradle to gate, taking into account all the upstream processes, the resource extraction and the production up to the moment when the product leaves the factory. This helps the company’s partners to calculate and optimize the individual carbon footprint of their own end products.

The sustainability report provides detailed insights into the company's ecological, social and economic initiatives as well as the progress made, documenting Lohmann's path to a more sustainable business model.

The report provides a comprehensive insight into Lohmann's sustainability agenda. Innovative developments such as the TwinMelt technology, which optimizes production processes by drastically reducing energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, stand out in particular. The "Going Green" project implemented last year for the sustainable site design of the Neuwied headquarters, which was carried out together with the WZL Institute at RWTH Aachen University, will also be presented.
